The AYAN star is surely going places! First, it was his neat performance as Sanjay Ramaswamy in GHAJINI that attracted Aamir Khan to remake the film in hindi. And now, Suriya is all set to set foot in bollywood with his first Hindi film!
The actor is excited about RATHA CHARITHRA, a film he's going to do with Ram Gopal Varma. "It'll be in two parts and I will be introduced in yhe climax scenes of the first part," says Suriya, talking to CHENNAI TIMES from Kolkata where he's shooting for KS Ravikumar's AADHAVAN. The film, which will star Vivek Oberoi, will revolve around the life of Paritala Ravi- a prime suspect in many murder cases.
Talks about the film have been going on for many years now and this time, it's surely happening! "We started discussion after I did GHAJINI in Tamil but things didn't materialise. I'm super happy that it's kicked off this time around," he states. The first part will be released in January, while the second will hit the screens later next year.
Elaborating, Suriya says that the one hour narration of the script stunned him. "I just had to say yes," he states. The actor's eyes drew RGV in to making the choice. "He says he cast me because of my eyes and body language," says Suriya, who will be playing a character called Suriya in the film.
RGV had reportedly said earlier that it's not possible to do justice to the character in a film which is less than five hours. "The film's shooting would be held at stretch but the release would be spaced out over three months," Varma is reported to have said.
So,what did RGV tell the actor? "He told me, 'You'll see a new Suriya in this film'. I'm looking forward to that," he signs off.
