Going to global

Question have always brought forth a change and the question 'Why should a tamil movie be watched only by tamil audiences and not by everyone around the world?' seems to have resulted in ACHCHAMUNDU! ACHCHAMUNDU!(AA), an atempt to take tamil cinema to greater heights.

Speaking the audio and trailer launch of the film, director Arun Vaidyanathan said, "We wanted people from oter parts of the world to also understand and enjoy tamil cinema."

The movie, which holds the distinction of being the first tamil film to be shot completely with the red one camera, has already won an award at a film festival in the US and has also been selected to be screened at the Shanghai film festival.

"There are many who have asked me why the movie is being screened at film festivals before being released. I think if the movie is taken to festivals after it release, it loses the exposure it gains by way of accolades showered on it at the festival," he said.

Sound engineer result pookutty, who released the audio of the movie, said, "I have an emotional connect with chennai. I believed that if anybody would do live sound in India, it would be a person from chennai and the person would be Kamal Hasan. Fourteen years ago, I came down to chennai and met him. He was doing CHACHI 420 then and for certain reasons, we couldn't do live sound then. Recently, he called me after getting to know I had been nominated for the Oscars. I told him then that I was the person who had met him to do live sound. He Congratulated me for being nominated to the Oscars."

The function was attended by a host of dignitaries from the film industry including Balu Mahendra, Nasser, Venkat Prabhu and the film's music director Karthik Raja, along with his siblings Yuvan Shankar Raja and Bavatharini.
